Ignore the folder being called FINAL we had 4 different versions floating around making sure it had all images.

KIKIRIKI SHOULD BE IN THE SAME FOLDER AS VH4

How to use Kikiriki:
1. Open a command prompt and run “kikiriki.exe -i data.xp3 -o data” This will extract and decrypt the game files.
2. Rename or delete data.xp3 to prevent conflicts with the extracted files.
3.  Now open the rar and click through the folders until you see DATA. Copy everything from the DATA folder into the directory, which kikiriki put out, overwriting all files.

Alternative if it won’t work with the above method:

⊗Don’t forget to change the username and folders appropriately.

1. Kikiri and its plugin should be in the same folder as VH4.

2. Start->Run->CMD

3. cd C:\Users\never10release\Documents\vh4

4. kikiriki.exe -i data.xp3 -o data

5. CMD will start spitting out files let it run.

6. When it is done, take the DATA folder you downloaded from mega, copy and paste it into VH4.

7. Replace all files, only H-Scenes and UI are translated currently.

8.Vote in the poll if you want story or if you want more H-Scenes.

Current Goals:

I am trying to get a rough draft of every H-Scene first so that I can have people help me improve the quality of the writing.

Not everything will be a 1:1 direct translation, which is my ultimate goal, because at the time if a sentence sounded awkward, to me personally, I tried to get it as close as possible to what I believe the original meaning is. I apologize if this is unsatisfactory however I have marked these lines in notes on the master copy in case revision are necessary.

Things to Remember

I am manually editing everything, but images (thanks Isaac and Miria [Their pen names]), by myself so if there are mistakes either in translation, spelling, or grammar and my testers miss it please notify me.

I am more open to criticism instead of praise because I want to ensure a quality release to the best of my ability.

    • I apologize for this incoming wall of text, it is not personal in anyway, but it might help people better understand the game files and junk if there are any future questions so I can refer them to here/copy paste it into its own section.

      tl;dr Story and Scenes as of now I would say are fairly equal with the amount of translating and time required.

      H-Scene: 40?~ Files total; Basically the average so far is females usually have 25 lines total, MC has 25 and system has 23~(i never really counted these). These are mostly avgs of what I worked with so far because depending on the girl they can have 19 lines; Basutee scene 1 or 30~lines x2 people=60 just for girls; like in Marietta scene 2. Roughly 7(never counted these either) of MCs are garbage lines of just moaning and things of that nature. System is actions/descriptions which is the most time consuming part. So basically its always around 85 lines per scene need to be translated, which may not seem like a lot until you factor in the kanji which can easily double the lines length from Japanese->English, making it flow etc blah blah.

      Story: 217?~ Files total; First file is 470 lines total and I want to say about 370 of them need to be translated because it is all banter. Than it gradually reduces to basically 5-10 lines per character, fight dialogue is like 20 lines total needed for translation, skills menus etc etc blah blah blah

      H-scenes are definitely easier to work with because its the main focus and rarely changes pace, its clear cut throat kanji and action wise whats going to happen from one H-Scene to the next between the same character as it uses the same speaking patterns mostly. I.e. tentacle user will use tentacle heavy kanji frequently, almost in every line.

      Line total wise just for story, events, and banter (the game aspects) will probably make it a bit closer to the amount of text needed for H-Scene translation total if not a little bit less because there are lot of things for some reason, some small-some big and I plan to do as much as possible.

      Time wise for H-Scenes: It takes me about 3hrs per scene to get the rough draft done/stability testing. Stability means making sure I didn’t break the scene, making sure I used the right type setting, I translated things to the best of my ability, no error popups, dialogue flows nicely and feels natural. Revisions for this will be ??? as I will be working with one of my best bros wife (Thanks girl!) since she can words better than me as well as general revisions on lines I felt I could do better translating.

      Game wise: Took about 4hrs avg since I was editing images, something I’m not very good at, before one of my best bros (Thanks bro!) offered to do them for me. Haven’t touched any of the banter yet at all but I can probably burn through 20+ files a day if they keep a low line count.

      So for now I’m gonna say its 40/60 split, 60 Being the H-Scenes, and I only have 1-3hrs of free time to translate a day (Mostly Sunday to Wednesday) if I feel like working on it, so that may also explain why I can update fairly quickly and often if you were curious about that.

      It also may seem like I’m trying to just burn through this shit as fast as possible, when really I feel I am moving fairly slow, which I probably am, because I am trying to learn more kanji as well as vocab. It may seem stupid to do it from a Eroge but its invaluable for myself to better understand SFX as well as build a stronger vocabulary for common place words to describe materials or actions. It’s also super useful as both a refresher and learning some kanji I probably would never see naturally. My personal #1 goal is always to be better than machine translations and to make sure its accurate as I can make it and have high quality.

      I’m sorry for this wall but I hope this helps to shed light on things people don’t even think about, I sure as shit didn’t when I started.

      • as much as i want to support the makers, ( i buy mthe game out of them already) O~O they seem to really not care for a wider market then Asia, and quite frankly it ticks me off, as for why i would send you the $ , well , to me you are just as critical to the project as the programer, someone has to have the resolution to work it out, to start and finish it, no matter how rash of a state it is .

      • Seems to be by same studio but it looks to be a bare bones VN, as of now I’ll say I’ll do it after VH5 however until I start cracking it open and seeing what I am going to work with I might change my mind.

        Don’t expect it for sometime though, theres still VH4DLC and VH5 to work on but I’ll add this to the list for now.

      • I’ll probably pass on this one, it’s giving me demon master chris vibes and I didn’t enjoy that much at all.

        Anyways thanks for showing me some more stuff as I don’t delve much into new releases at all.

        Once I finish up these planned translations I’ll probably open myself up more to doing other games as long as I have time because I don’t want to make promises for other games in case someone else wants to do it. I also don’t want to overburden myself since I don’t even have a release yet and you guys might hate what I do.

      • alrighty , i might probe you from time to time with games like that , BUT , a simple word, like ” STOP ” and il do so with no complain, i have always seeked a translator for these game that had connection to had the game modiffied , so to me, fair say, you are a VERY valuable person (*,*)/ hope that came out well, dont mean anything wrong here

  10. Thanks so much but please.. please don’t translate the h-scenes and leave everything out cuz half of people will probbably do so. I know why we play this game, but I like playing everything with full understanding. So please, finish it all before you jump to other project.

    • I’m doing story, I post the edited images for story mode my bro gives me whenever he sends over a batch (there’s one up right now infact). It’s just going to be last because my Bro said he would help editing the images, so I sent him almost everything (343 images so far and plenty more to go), while I do everything else so all that’s really left for me is the scripts which I can probably bang out in a week.

      I also don’t want to rush him since hes good with graphics and his wife, who is doing the editing, is also an artist so they are making the stuff look pretty. Without them this project would be taking double the amount of time so…

    • Yea I’m just going to keep doing the VH series as it comes since it looks to be yearly, during the down times (when I catch up) I will do smaller projects if possible. So VH DLC and VH V are on my to do list unless someone else decides to pick them up.

  15. Appreciate all the effort, but sadly it does not work. I extracted the data file as you instructed, and deleted the original. Then I replaced all the files under Data with the files from your patch. All I get are Japanese characters.

  16. Would like to start with saying how AWESOME you are for picking up the translation project (kudos to dargoth for translating 1-3 and other MG stuff but i’ve been waiting a while for 4).
    That being said I think you should translate the story and mandatory H-scenes (including the end(ings) and ‘extra’ that seems to be in every VH) and then move on to the “I want to see myself get raped I’m going to lose to this very sexy monster girl” scenes

    • If there is a change of opinion since the site has become better known from when I originally asked story+h-scenes or h-scenes than story I’ll change. It doesn’t bother me either way since the site kind of blew up beyond my expectations.

      When I asked a lot of the questions in the start I only got 2-10 concurrent viewers a day now I avg a lot more per day and no one chimed in they wanted a change. I’ll make a poll to get a new opinion since I guess things are going to get more hectic now.

I can’t for the life of me figure out how to run this, on dargothtranslations all you had to do was copy the folder and run the patch, but I’ve been trying for ever trying to figure out how to do this. You said to open a command prompt and run “kikiriki.exe -i data.xp3 -o data” okay, so do you mean to run that in the command prompt? or open kikirki? The whole command pomprt thing is really confusing to me. I’ve tried copying and pasting “kikiriki.exe -i data.xp3 -o data” in the command prompt. I’ve tried opening kikiriki but it just closes out instantly. I’m sorry but I’m a complete noob at this. As soon as it clicks on how it works ill get it. I just hope you reply and be a little more specific with the instructions.

  18. I downloaded the files from megaupload and extracted them. I put the folder VHTranslationFinal in my game directory. I also downloaded kiriki and put it in my game directory. Then I used the command prompt and stuff happened.

    The problem is: I have a data folder, but no English folder.

    There is a separate Data folder inside VHTranslationFinal with the folders named image and scenario. I tried copying these into the data folder and replacing the files, but that doesn’t work.

  20. Still can’t patch the game, i’m a total noob with this stuff.

    Why did you make it so complex, with Dargoth’s patch is was much easier T_T

    Can’t you just put the instruction in a step-by-step readme.txt or something? I don’t understand where i have to extract what, or when run what.

    • Hold shift and right click in the folder where you keep VH4, choose open command promt here, then type the commands he posted above (kikiriki.exe etc.)

    • No need, I made it as simple as possible. If anything there’s now a proper guide to use Kikiriki since when I did this I only had the short paragraph from Dargoths and was able to solve it. That’s how I like to look at this situation.

      Anyways I’m sure that someone out there will make a .bat file or just rip everything for everyone else, since I can’t make a .bat and uploading the Data folder is probably illegal as it’s the entire game essential.

      • Yes it in same folder normally after run kikiriki data folder should appear it VH4 folder but for my case it didn’t show up I don’t know why too, I want to show you the pic i cap but i don’t know how to post picture in here .

    • prnt screen key than go into a paint program and paste. Cover/remove any sensitive information and upload it to imgur.

      Also list the folders and etc in a seperate picture so I can see.

      Just remember to block out anything personal.

    • Nevermind, I realised that my vh4 was located in my documents (Im terrible with this stuff). Someone’s comment above helped me get the command to work so thanks to him and thank you for translating!

  29. I managed to get the kikiriki part working in command prompt but as i transfered the DATA folder over, there was no prompt to replace any existing folder. After renaming the data.xp3 file, i was unable to run the game and an error pops up. help please :(

    • after run kikiriki success data folder should be appear if not try to use search on you computer and then move them to your vh4 folder and do the rest.

  36. Hi, ive been trying to get my translation to work for so long now and I just can seem to figure it out I, extract the files and then I take the files I got from the translation and put them in the new data file that has appeared but nothing seems to change.
